RANGES TROUBLESHOOTING: NOISES AND DOOR ISSUES

Having trouble opening your oven door? Or is it making a noise you’ve never heard from it before? Let’s find out what’s going on.

Noises

Humming
Here are some things that could be happening:

  • On a gas range, this could be because the Cooktop Lock feature is on.
  • On an electric range, cooking on a high power setting can cause this.
  • Sometimes the automatic cooling fan can make this noise.
  • You might hear this noise if your cooktop has a downdraft vent system.

For electric ranges – Beeping
This could mean a utensil has been left on the burner. Remove it right away.
