TROUBLESHOOTING:
WASHER NOISES
Is your washer making mysterious noises? Most are perfectly normal, but there are a few that might need attention.
Here are some things that might be going on.
WHAT’S THAT NOISE?
Rattling, banging, or tapping
The drain hose or water inlet hoses may be knocking against the rear of the washer cabinet. Secure the hoses using the supplied beaded strap or with a wire tie.
Thumping
If you’re hearing this sound, you likely have an unbalanced load. This could be caused by a large load or by washing a single bulky item. Make sure clothes are evenly distributed around the wash basket.
Grinding/rubbing
This can also indicate an unbalanced load or a washer that’s not level. Find information on leveling your washer here.
IF YOU HAVE A DRAIN PAN, THE RUBBING SOUND MIGHT BE THE SOUND OF IT RUBBING AGAINST THE TUB BOTTOM.
Extend the leveling legs out to maximum height to prevent this.
